empathy for those who are suffering, may experience unhappiness despite living a privileged life.
Economic and technological development has increased comforts and facilities, but the quality of life and personal happiness have not necessarily ameliorated. There are factors which certainly affect the quality of life such as how safe, secure and crime-free a particular society is. Children growing up in small families or one-child families are deprived of the company of siblings, and parents are therefore anxious

to give quality-time to their children. In urban societies, increased screentime has led to damaged eyesight and reduced social interaction, both of which negatively impact health (physical and mental). Air, water and land pollution have significantly reduced the quality of our life. This raises the question—are we really progressing?
In order to enjoy a high quality of life and happiness, one has to have a purpose in life that is noble. When your life has meaning, then you will feel that your life is worth living. Very few are lucky to achieve this.
